So I was minding my own business this morning on the highway taking a long, two lane off ramp, when I look over and their was what I thought to be a Focus ST. Sure enough out of the off ramp (which leads to another highway), he accelerates out effortlessly and I get to see the ST badge. Man those things are quick. I followed him for most of my ride in to work. From a red light, I tried to keep pace, but between not having the power to keep up, and not wanting to drive too fast on public roads, I backed up. There was no contest.

I've always been a bit of a Subaru fan boy, and never thought I'd really want something otherwise, but hot damn I like the ST. It looked a little twitchy in the turns, but fun as hell I assume.

My girlfriends co-workers boyfriend has a red one, (we both pick our girlfriends up from work so wait in the parking lot together sometimes) and damn does the red look sharp.

I'm a fan, got one on Saturday . You weren't in DC following a silver one were you? :)

It is a little twitchy at times, that is true. But I am still amazed at how effortlessly it accelerates. The turbo just brings on this "whoooosh" and I have this sort of goofy laugh that sounds a little bit like Professor Frink from the Simpsons.

The ST (and the rest of the Ford lineup, truthfully) is one of the only cars that has me wanting to ditch Subaru

Haha nope that's a little far from home! Sweet man congrats. I remember reading a little up on them and I assume the twitchy-ness comes from them trying to combat FWD understeer. Enjoy it man!

I bet! I got to see the blue one. I like it, it's a nice shade

I'm not a big ford fan but definitely the ST. The ST made my '04 WRX look as quick as my old Legacy wagon.

Yeah...to be honest Ford has had good blue paints for a long time. The Focus had 2 nice blues as well.

when I was comparing st and wrx, one of the considerations for me was potential resale values 5-7 years down the line - thoughts?

Until about a week ago I didn't like Ford either, but they have some interesting models with a lot of engine choices that appeal to the crowd who wants something to fly under the radar

Hm, that's a good question. I know I shake my head whenever I look at the prices of used wrx's for fun. To give you an idea on CL, all 02-04 WRX's I've looked at go for atleast 7 or 8 grand with 100k miles. Now do they actually sell for that when somebody buys it I'm not sure, but that's what they are listed at. I couldn't even offer a conjecture on ST's
